Valley caravan park - Polzeath

I chose this site purely on its location & did not have high expectations. Although I imagine it would be a nightmare during peak season this was a peaceful stream side location just yards from the beach. The ducks provided endless entertainment too.

Port Quin

Port Quin was once a thriving fishing village on a par with Port Isaac, but in the great storm of 1698 the entire fishing fleet was destroyed, none of the fishermen of Port Quin returned alive, creating circa 24 widowsThe families that were left all moved from Port Quin to Port Isaac, leaving the place deserted.

Coast walk - Polzeath to Port Quin Via The Rumps

The rump point is formed from hard basaltic rock and projects north into the Atlantic Ocean. Its headlands lie east-to-west. A small offshore island named The Mouls lies off the eastern headland; the western headland is named Rumps Point.
